Now I know every country is different when it comes to baby’s immunisation but this one is really crazy. We had our last vaccines yesterday. Now a well deserved break until Ruby will be about one year old.
Last ones were actually three injections she had in her legs. Same was on her first lot (three injections and one oral) and the second was the easiest as it was one injection and one oral. It seems to me a bit much for a baby.
When I first went to the GP for her immunisation she was only about eight weeks and I had no idea what to expect. When I heard all she will get I got scared. I am supposed to hold my baby’s leg while the nurse sticks the needle. So painful. Instead of hearing her cry her heart out I would prefer to take the injections myself (and trust me I so hate them)
I got a friend in Austria with a baby as well. Her little one is about three months old so he will have his last vaccines in October. Guess how many injections he had? ONLY ONE!!!
Shall I get that Britain is a country well exposed to so many viruses? Indeed it is.

8 weeks
5-in-1 vaccine – this single jab contains vaccines to protect against five separate diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (known as Hib – a bacterial infection that can cause severe pneumonia or meningitis in young children)
12 weeks
5-in-1 vaccine, second dose
Rotavirus vaccine, second dose
16 weeks
5-in-1 vaccine, third dose
Pneumococcal (PCV) vaccine, second dose
Men B vaccine second dose
Only in the first months of my baby’s life. All you can do is be strong, hold your baby and count on the paracetamol that it will do a good job and little one won’t have temperature. Mine didn’t but she was so needy and all she wanted was the comfort of my arms. I gave her all the love I had and she is so well now. Calpol does the magic as well. Some mums are very skeptical when it comes to all injections seeing conspiracy everywhere. But who am I to judge? I listened to the doctors, went with Ruby and she had all her vaccines done. Agreeing or not with this does not matter right now. Am I willing to risk my baby’s health just because of my craziness? NO! HELL NO! So no matter what others think I done it.
Some will say no to all the vaccines and will vent everywhere about injecting the diseases into your child’s body but you know what I want my baby as healthy as possible. I want my baby smiling to me every morning when she sees me so if this is the price to pay than it is a small one. Hurts at the beginning and it goes away in a few minutes.
