If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?

What would my billboard say? It took me a while to settle for one message. There are so many that speak to me and I would want people to read them every day but I think the one that says the most is “Small steps make great changes”Β

We are running for quick fixes in life. We are chasing a six pack using a machine that doesn’t actually do much but promises to make you look like Ronaldo in just two weeks! We are chasing lottery wins not even realising how much money we actually spend on tickets without getting anything in return.

Social media showed us a world that doesn’t exist and we fell for it! Why workout when we can fill our bodies with toxic medicine to lose weight? Or wear the miracle bodysuit that is going to make you look 30 pounds slimmer? (at the end of the day you are just wearing a lie. Take it off and there are no results. The mirror will show you the reality)

I always wanted to run faster, be stronger, look fitter, have a kick-ass core but I dreamed of having them overnight. The idea of actually working out every day, feeling progress within my body and myself sometimes in the future … was never appealing

I stopped exercising and just went with the flow. I was lucky enough to be slim and thought that was enough.

Fast forward twenty years later and I can tell you one thing: do the workout, take the small steps, work towards your dream and never give up. Those small steps are the most important ones. They will take you so far in life. Discipline andΒ  routine show you real success

I am counting my injuries suffered in the past five years since I started working out and I can tell you they are scary. Why? Because my core is still weak, because my body is getting older and I can’t face HIIT workouts; my knees are popping because I didn’t care about them before. My posture is crap because all I did was wear high heels on a daily basis and shows that would offer zero support so instead of collecting the fruits, I am patching a tree that was abandoned for a  long time.

So, in conclusion, take the small steps! Trust the process! You will thank yourself later
