It’s Friday and we don’t call it Friday no more. We call it almost weekend so we can emphasize even more the fact that we’re so close we can touch and feel the weekend but it’s not here yet

Where are those days when we used to enjoy the Friday for it was a Friday? It seems like we are just in a continuous wait for something forgetting the now

We stopped being happy with our journeys, we forgot how it is to stop and smell the roses. We all have a destination and we can’t stop. We are almost there. We are wired to keep going somewhere reaching for something.

But this “there” is unreachable. It’s a chase for something more. We can’t be happy with what we have. We’ll always want to go further, have just that bit extra.  The “there” will just be almost for as long as we live.

What we forget is being grateful. We are rich in so many aspects but there is this vail pulled over our eyes, impending the vision of what is now. Why can’t we stop for a second and look around our homes, at our families and friends, smile and say: “I am blessed!”

Today I am grateful for my life! I am grateful for I have a home and a family who loves me and I couldn’t imagine my life without them. Today I am grateful for my health. Today I am grateful for all the things my body can do. I am grateful for being able to exercise and for I am strong. Today I am grateful for everything I have and am

Yes, there is always room for more but everything happens at the right time and I will not chase shadows. I will fight to be a better version of myself every day but I will try and always be there and not just almost. I will be grateful for the now first.

What are you grateful for today?
