Remember how I recently wrote that the second I wake up I start planning my day? Well, I still do and I still stress thinking of all things that have to be done for the day or rather the things I want to do but we all know there are not enough hours in a day to do all the things we want to do.

As a part of my plan of growing and being a better person, as part of my plan of learning to love myself, I decided to start my day in a completely different manner. And I think this exercise will diminish my daily stress by quite a lot.

Why don’t I start my day with a “done list” . Instead of thinking and stressing and planning all the infinite things I want to do in only a day, I thought that waking up and smiling at all the things that are already done would be a more productive way for my sanity.

By the time I got out the house today there were so many DONE things that I couldn’t even had imagined. I woke up and seven and started doing so by ten am my list looked like this:

WOKE UP – done

HAD COFFEE – done

BRUSHED TEETH AND SHOWERED – done

WARM UP MILK FOR CHILD – done

KISSES AND CUDDLES – done

CHANGE CHILD FROM PJS – done

GET CHILD READY FOR DANCE CLASS – done

TAKE DRIED CLOTHES OF DRIER

FOLD AND PUT AWAY DRY, CLEAN CLOTHES

LOAD OF WASHING – done

HANG CLOTHES ON DRIER – done

DISHES WASHED – done

HOUSE HOOVERED – done

WORK OUT FOR THIRTY MINUTES – DONE

MAKE UP – done

GET BAG READY FOR CHILD – done

GET BAG READY FOR MYSELF – done

GIVE CHILD BREAKFAST – done

TIDY UP KITCHEN – done

MAKE BEDS – done

HAVE A SHAKE – done

CHECK WEATHER FOR RAIN – done

CHECK MAINS AND THERMOSTAT THAT ARE OFF – done

POSTED MY BOOK CHALLENGE ON FB – done

TEXTED FRIENDS – done

GET CHILD DRESSED AND MAKE SURE I AM NOT FORGETTING ANYTHING – done

LOCK DOORS – done

TAKE BIN OUT ON THE WAY done

TAKE CHILD TO DANCE CLASS done

CHANGE CHILD IN BALLET OUTFIT – done

TAKE PICTURES FOR THE EVERYWHERE BEAR TASK (another post) – done

By the time all these were done it was only 10:35 am and I managed to sit down and breath waiting for little one to come out the class and reflecting on what I accomplished in such little time. I wrote a small post on the face book group I am part of and I thought: “Thank you God for giving me the strength to do all these amazing things and still have time to relax over a coffee, do my grocery shopping and take my little one to a soft play.

I don’t have journal as I consider this blog one of some sort so my DONE list is one that exists in my head every day and I am hoping it will give me power over my anxiety and stress, help make them disappear somewhere in the back of my mind (deep down where I cannot remember them) and also bring back that positive thinking that I so much miss.

A DONE list is something I want to believe in and maybe, it will help me to just be after all. If it will work or not remains to be seen but it’s a start. It’s a start towards something greater and more beautiful.

Just imagine how grateful one can feel after accomplishing a million small things in little time. It’s exactly like the expression SEEING THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL. I want to choose to see the half full side of life, smile honestly and also learn what’s best for me.

This Mom’s Idea to wake up with a Done list is genius! One of the most genius things I’ve read all week. I will definitely start doing this! Thanks so much for sharing
